GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third-straight week and fourth time this season, Virginia volleyball freshman Anna Walsh (Grapevine, Texas) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week.

Walsh led Virginia with a .490 hitting percentage and averaged 3.62 kills per set and 1.12 blocks per set in wins over Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. She put down 14 kills on a team-high .500 hitting clip and added a career-high six blocks and three digs in the win over the Panthers.

The middle hitter tied a match-high 15 kills on .481 hitting with three blocks to lead UVA past Virginia Tech in a Commonwealth Clash match. She helped the Cavaliers hit .304 and hold the Hokies to just a .167 hitting percentage.

Walsh recorded two-straight kills to cap off a 4-0 run that won the second set and tied the match at 1-1. She finished with eight of her 15 kills in the final two sets, including five in the fourth with no errors.

Virginia is back on the road this week as it travels to North Carolina on Friday (Oct. 9) and NC State on Saturday (Oct. 10).
