PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Seniors Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) hit the court on Thursday to open play at the ITA All-American and split their matches in the opening round of competition.

Collins picked up a victory for the Cavaliers and advanced in the main draw of the tournament. Elbaba fell in a three-set match and will now compete in the consolation bracket of the main draw.

Collins opened the day with a victory over Giuliana Olmos of Southern California, defeating her in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. The Cavalier senior will play again on Friday against Caroline Doyle of Stanford.

Elbaba took to the court against Sinead Lohan of Miami, falling to the ACC rival in a hard-fought match 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. The Cavalier will now face Lexi Borr of Boston College on Friday.
