Charlottesville, Va. – The 22nd-ranked Virginia men’s golf team wraps up its fall season this weekend at the 10th annual United States Collegiate Championship at the 7,017-yard, par 72 Lakeside Course at The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta. The 54-hole event begins at Friday, Oct. 16, and continues with round two Saturday morning and concludes with the final round Sunday.

Virginia senior Derek Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) will defend his individual title after finishing first last fall by shooting 15-under 201. It was the best 54-hole score in the history of the event. Not only was it Bard’s low collegiate round, he fired an 8-under 64 during the final round to record his best 18-hole score. Bard helped the Cavaliers to a second-place team finish at 20-under 844.
