LYNCHBURG, Va. – Junior Victoria Olivarez (Virginia Beach, Va.) posted a pair of wins on Thursday to advance out of the qualifying rounds at the ITA Atlantic Regional on Thursday. She will now join seven other Cavaliers in the main draw of the event that begins on Friday.

Olivarez defeated Lyn Yuen Choo of West Virginia 6-2, 6-1 in the round of 32. She then defeated Anna Dollar of Liberty University by a score of 7-5, 7-5 to secure a spot in the main draw.

Also competing in the ITA Atlantic Regional in singles are seniors Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.), Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.), Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas), and freshmen Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Me.) and Erica Susi (Vero Beach, Fla.)

The Cavaliers also have three doubles teams competing in the event with the pairings of Elbaba/Morton, Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.)/Kelley and Epstein/Olivarez all taking the court.

Collins will not be participating in singles after earning an automatic berth to the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship by virtue of winning the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship this past weekend.

As the only tournament on the ITA calendar to showcase elite players from every level of college tennis, the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships serves as the culmination of the fall season. This prestigious event features a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw for men and women.
