CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After two weeks on the road, the Virginia volleyball team returns to Memorial Gymnasium for eight of its last 12 matches. The Cavaliers host Notre Dame on Friday (Oct. 23) at 7 p.m. before welcoming No. 24 Louisville on Saturday (Oct. 24) at 7 p.m.

Live stats for the match will be available through VirginiaSports.com and the match video will be streamed live through the Cavaliers Live subscription package.

Virginia (13-6, 5-3 ACC) has played well at home, beginning 5-0 this season and is 14-3 dating back to 2014. The last time out, UVA defeated Boston College 3-0, but fell in a close five-set match to Syracuse, 3-2.

The Cavaliers rank third in the ACC with a .251 hitting percentage on the season and have improved it to a .237 clip in conference play. Virginia leads the league in service aces with 1.58 per set in ACC action.

Senior Natalie Bausback (Carlsbad, Calif.) just needs 44 kills to join the 1,000-kill club. Bausback leads the Cavaliers with 222 kills on the season, averaging 2.92 per set. She would become the 17th player all-time at UVA to reach 1,000 kills.

Notre Dame (6-15, 1-8 ACC) has lost its last four matches entering Friday’s contest. The Fight Irish most recently fell to No. 24 Louisville, 3-0, on Wednesday night. Sam Fry leads the team with 3.06 kills per set and has tallied a team-high 72 blocks on the season.

This will be just the fifth meeting between UVA and Notre Dame. The Cavaliers own a 3-1 advantage in the series and have won the last three meetings, including last season’s 3-2 victory at home.

No. 24 Louisville (15-4, 9-0 ACC) is riding a nine-match win streak that includes a 3-0 win over Notre Dame on Wednesday. The Cardinals lead the ACC in opponent hitting percentage (.158), assists (13.71/set) and kills (14.61/set). Individually, Tess Clark tops the ACC in hitting percentage (.436) and Katie George leads in assists with 11.85 per set.

Virginia and Louisville are meeting for the sixth time in series history. The Cavaliers won both meeting last season over the Cardinals, but Louisville still holds a 3-2 advantage in the series.
