CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling team competes in its first dual meet of the season on Friday, traveling to face No. 25 North Dakota State at 3 p.m. ET. It kicks off a busy weekend for the Cavaliers who then travel to face No. 24 Minnesota at a quad meet that also features Grand Canyon University and South Dakota State.

Three wrestlers appear in the latest InterMat rankings.
Nick Herrmann (16th at 125 pounds)
George DiCamillo (11th at 133 pounds)
Zach Nye (11th at 197 pounds)

The latest on the Cavaliers:
Virginia is wrestling at its first dual meet of the season after opening competition last weekend at the Clarion Open. Six Cavaliers claimed championships at the Clarion Open, while 13 total wrestlers placed in the event. Winning at the Clarion Open were Nick Herrmann (Amarillo, Texas) at 125 pounds, George DiCamillo (Highland Heights, Ohio) at 133 pounds, TJ Miller (Medford, N.J.) at 149 pounds, Andrew Atkinson (Lynchburg, Va.) at 157 pounds, Fox Baldwin (Kissimmee, Fla.) at 174 pounds and Zach Nye (Enola, Pa.) at 197 pounds.

Noting North Dakota State:
The Bison of North Dakota State enter the weekend ranked No. 25 in the latest USA Today/NWCA rankings. NDSU is in its first season wrestling as a member of the Big 12 and sent wrestlers to the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open last weekend where Hayden Zillmer won the championship at 184 pounds. Virginia and North Dakota State have faced each other three times with the Cavaliers holding a 2-1 lead in dual meets, including a win over the Bison last season in Charlottesville.
