Two Cavaliers Advance to Singles Flight Finals at WFU Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two Virginia men’s tennis players have advanced to their respective singles flight finals after logging wins on Saturday, Nov. 7 on the indoor courts at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Sophomore Alexander Ritschard (Zurich, Switzerland) , the top seed in the A2 Singles bracket, downed Indiana’s Antonio Cembellin to move on to Sunday’s final.
Senior Jonathan Cornish (London, England) logged a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dartmouth’s Aman Agarwal in the B1 singles semis.
Redshirt junior Harrison Richmond (Pawley’s Island, S.C.) also won his match in the B2 Singles fifth-place bracket, downing UNC Greensboro’s Danny Mack 7-6 (4), 6-2.
Richmond and Cornish had a walkover in doubles on Saturday, but will play a final consolation doubles match on Sunday.
The tournament runs through Sunday with the matches being played at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
