CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s basketball program has signed four players to National Letters of Intent, head coach Tony Bennett announced Thursday (Nov. 12).

Kyle Guy (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central), Jay Huff (Durham, N.C./Voyager Academy), De’Andre Hunter (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends’ Central) and Ty Jerome (New Rochelle, N.Y./Iona College Prep) have inked NLIs and will join the Cavaliers for the 2016-17 season.

“We are pleased to add four quality student-athletes to our basketball program,” Bennett said. “Kyle, Jay, De’Andre and Ty are talented basketball players, who come from outstanding families. All four of these guys are high character individuals who will value a degree from the University of Virginia.”

Guy, a 6-3, 165-pound shooting guard, averaged 19.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists during his junior season at Lawrence Central High School under head coach Al Gooden. Guy earned all-conference and all-county honors, and was named a Junior Indiana All-Star. Guy earned all-conference and all-county honors after averaging 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists for Lawrence Central as a sophomore in 2013-14. Guy is ranked No. 25 on ESPN’s 2016 Prospect Ranking list and No. 44 on Rivals’ 2016 Prospect Ranking list.

Huff, a 6-11, 190-pound forward, averaged 16.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots as a junior for Voyager Academy for his father and head coach Mike Huff in 2014-15. Huff led Voyager Academy to a 29-3 record and was named to the North Central 1A all-conference team. Huff is ranked No. 87 on Scout’s 2016 Prospect Ranking list.

Hunter is a 6-7, 195-pound guard, who averaged 21.6 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists during his junior season at Friends’ Central High School under head coach Ryan Tozer last season. He earned team most valuable player honors as Friends’ Central posted a 20-7 record. Hunter is ranked No. 66 on Rivals’ 2016 Prospect Ranking list and No. 77 on ESPN’s 2016 Prospect Ranking list.

Jerome, a 6-5, 190-pound point guard, averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists as a junior for Iona College Varsity Prep under head coach Vic Quirolo in 2014-15. Jerome earned all-state, all-conference and all-metro honors. In addition, he was named Westchester Player of the Year and team most valuable player. Jerome is ranked No. 50 on Rivals’ 2016 Prospect Ranking list and No. 52 on ESPN’s 2016 Prospect Ranking list.
