The outfielder was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 MLB draft out of high school, but chose to delay his professional career and spend three seasons playing for the Cavaliers instead. In his time at UVA, Fisher hit 12 triples, tying the program record, and helped lead the #OmaHoos to the 2014 College World Series finals. After his junior year, Fisher was drafted with the 37th overall pick by the Houston Astros where he spent last season smashing 22 home runs and driving in 87 runs. In this week’s issue of Baseball America, Fisher credits his professional success to making the decision to come to UVA.
