According to this article in the Virgin Islands Daily News, Virginia is the team to root for in the Paradise Jam Tournament because of its local ties. Assistant coach La’Keisha Frett-Meredith’s father, Raymond Frett, teaches and is involved with the JROTC program at Kean High School on the island.

In this @NBC29 story, former UVA baseball standout Ryan Zimmerman has enlisted other Hoos like Kenny Towns and Ralph Sampson to help raise funds for multiple sclerosis. Zimmerman’s mother has MS and his foundation has raised more than $2 million through fundraisers and events. Funds that help to benefit the UVA Pediatric and Young Adult Multiple Sclerosis Clinic.
