Full 2015 USA Today All-America Team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia free safety Quin Blanding was named to the second-team of USA Today‘s All-America squad, which was announced today by the media outlet.

Blanding (So., Virginia Beach, Va.), a first-team All-ACC honoree, finished the regular season No. 2 in the ACC and No. 20 in the nation with 115 tackles. It’s the second year in a row Blanding finished No. 2 in the ACC in tackles after posting 123 as a true freshman in 2014. Blanding registered double-digit tackles in seven of 12 games and led UVA with 38 tackles on passing plays. The sophomore also recorded 76 of his tackles on rushing plays. He was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week after leading UVA with 15 stops against Georgia Tech. Blanding was named the Touchdown Club of Richmond’s defensive back of the year yesterday.

Blanding earned freshman All-America honors in 2014 and is one of nine ACC players honored on the first and second teams. Other ACC players honored were: Clemson’s QB Deshaun Watson (1st) and DL Shaq Lawson (1st); Duke’s S Jeremy Cash (1st) and OL Matt Skura (2nd); Florida State’s K Roberto Aguayo (2nd), OL Roderick Johnson (2nd) and CB Jalen Ramsey (2nd); NC State’s OL Joe Thuney (1st).
