Virginia Faces Virginia Tech, Towson This Weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams travel to Christiansburg, Va., this weekend (Jan. 15-16) to face Towson and host Virginia Tech at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
Action Friday evening begins at 5 p.m., while the competition will continue Saturday at 11 a.m.
The No. 3 Virginia women’s team (4-0) defeated Notre Dame, 243-105, last weekend (Jan. 8-9) at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville, while the No. 21 Cavalier men (2-2) took down the Fighting Irish, 182.5-170.5. The Cavaliers won 27 of the 38 events, including all 16 women’s swimming events.
Virginia Tech’s men (9-0) defeated both LSU and Kentucky last weekend, while the Hokie women (8-2) earned a victory over Kentucky, but fell to LSU.
Both the Towson women (5-2) and Tiger men (5-1) took down McDaniel Jan. 9 in Towson, Md.
In the last dual-meet competition between UVA and Virginia Tech, the two teams split the honors. The Cavalier women were victorious, 243-110, while the Hokie men defeated Virginia, 218-135.
Next up, the Cavaliers travel to Tobacco Road to face NC State on Jan. 22 and North Carolina on Jan. 23.
