GREENSBORO, N.C.-The Virginia men’s track and field team’s distance medley relay has been selected as the ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Feb. 23).

The relay of freshman Matthew Novak (Glen Allen, Va.), junior Nathan Kiley (Chantilly, Va.), sophomore Kenneth Hagen (Blacksburg, Va.) and junior Henry Wynne (Westport, Conn.) finished first at the UCS Invitational Saturday (Feb. 20) in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a time of 9:35.60. When the time is converted from a flat-track for NCAA seeding purposes, Virginia’s time of 9:27.7 ranks seventh in the country. The top 12 teams in the country will qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Novak opened with a 1,200-meter split of 2:57.753, followed by Kiley’s 400m split of 48.081 and Hagen’s 800m split of 1:51.041. Wynne closed the race with a 3:58.723 mile split.

Next up for league teams are the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held this Thursday (Feb. 25) through Saturday (Feb. 27) at the Reggie Lewis Center and hosted by Boston College.
