Bennett Raises $10K for Habitat for Humanity

By way of making his way to the third round of the ESPN Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge, a bracket-style tournament voted on by fans where each coach picked a charity of his choosing, #UVAMBB head coach Tony Bennett raised $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, as detailed in this report from NBC29.

#UVAMLax freshman midfielder Ryan Conrad (Timonium, Md.) already has seven points (5 goals, 2 assists) through the Cavaliers’ first four games. The seven points and five goals already rank No. 11 all-time among Dom Starsia freshmen (1993-present) playing strictly midfield in their first season. Conrad was Inside Lacrosse’s No. 1 ranked recruit coming out of high school and will be playing for Team USA this summer in the U19 World Championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Incoming #UVAWBB recruit Kyle Guy is even more focused after earning a spot in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game.

Congrats to former #UVAMBB associate head coach Ritchie McKay on being named the Big South Conference Coach of the Year. McKay, in his first season back on Liberty’s sideline after coaching the Flames two years from 2007-09, led LU to a 10-8 Big South record and first round bye in this week’s Big South Men’s Basketball Championship tournament.  The Flames were predicted last in the league’s preseason poll and returned just four letterwinners and zero starters from last year’s squad.
