CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior guard Faith Randolph (Derwood, Md.) and junior guard Breyana Mason (Woodbridge, Va.) have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic Team in honors announced today (March 3) by Commissioner John Swofford.

Randolph ranked second in scoring and rebounding in the 2015-16 season despite missing nine games with a broken thumb, averaging 12.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest. Randolph matched her career high with 26 points at Ohio State, earning co-ACC Player of the Week honors, her second time in her career she garnered the honor. In her second game back from the injury, the Women, Gender & Sexuality major scored 17 points and had a career-high five steals. She followed that up with her first career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds against Clemson.

Mason started every game this season for the Cavaliers, averaging 10.1 points per game. The American Studies major scored in double figures 20 times on the season, including 12 of the final 13 regular season games. She finished with a season-high 21 points against Georgia Tech, going 10-of-14 from the field.

It is the second career All-ACC Academic honor for both Randolph and Mason, who were named to the 2014-15 team.

NC State’s Ashley Williams was named the 2015-16 Kay Yow Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
