#ReadAcrossAmerica
On Tuesday, Henrik Wiersholm, Harrison Richmond and Aswin Lizen of the #UVAMTennis team helped the students at Greer Elementary celebrate #ReadAcrossAmerica Day. The March 2 date for this national celebration was chosen because it is Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Former #UVAMBB standout @CoryAlexanderVA, an announcer for Raycom Sports and the ACC Network, was honored last week with a Midsouth Regional Emmy Award for his work on the documentary “The Charles Scott Story.” Also receiving the award in the Documentary/Historical category were Raycom’s Jeremy Williams, Richard Brooke, Max Brooke and David Daly. Scott was the first African American scholarship student-athlete at North Carolina where he was a two-time All-American.

For the second year in a row, former #UVAWBB forward @ShineTime50 is part of the RSN broadcasting team at the #ACCWBB Tournament. After spending the season working as an analyst for the ACC Regional Sports Network broadcasts, Chelsea Shine Wilson is doing the on-court interviews, providing halftime and between game analysis
Former #UVAWBB All-American @joeharrisuva, the 2014 first-round draft pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers, is recovering from foot surgery, as he can tell you himself in his new blog he is writing for SportsBlog.com.

Two members of the UVA press corp were honored this week with top-10 awards from the Associated Press Sports Editors for their coverage of the Cavaliers. @WhiteysWorld365 earned the honor for his coverage of #UVAMBB and @ARamspacher was honored for this recap from the College World Series. The latter also took a moment to acknowledge two members of the Virginia media relations staff who assisted him along the way.
