CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team had seven players named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA National Academic Squad. The entire Cavalier team was also honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association with the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the fifth-straight year the squad earned that distinction.

The ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year. Virginia’s honorees were junior Caleigh Foust (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), freshman Emma Haupt (Virginia Beach, Va.), junior Megan Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa.), redshirt freshman Carrera Lucas (Brooklandville, Md.), freshman Izzy McDonough (Kennett Square, Pa.) freshman Laura Schnatmeier (Bad Schwartau, Germany) and sophomore Becca Zamojcin (Phoenixville, Pa.).

The Cavaliers were one of 63 programs this year to have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, earning them the ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA Academic Team Award.
