CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va – The third-ranked Virginia rowing team returns to action on Saturday-Sunday, April 16-17 at the Clemson Invitational on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.

Racing will take place in three sessions during the competitive two-day event. Action is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. each day as well as 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Virginia will have five crews racing this weekend, including the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Third Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four.

UVA will compete against No. 13 Indiana, No. 14 Washington State, Central Florida, Clemson, Cornell, Penn and No. 20 Louisville (Third Varsity Eight only) in the first session on Saturday.

UVA will race No. 4 Ohio State, No. 8 Texas, No. 13 Indiana, No. 14 Washington State, Central Florida, Clemson, Michigan State, San Diego and Cornell on Saturday night.

The Cavaliers conclude the invite by racing No. 10 Michigan, No. 19 Syracuse, Oklahoma, UCLA and Penn on Sunday. No. 4 Ohio State and Michigan State will join the six teams as novice entries in the Third Varsity Eight race.

Saturday’s morning session will be streamed online on ESPN3.com. The other two sessions will be streamed for free on Tigercast at ClemsonTigers.com. Live stats are available online at ClemsonTigers.com.

UVA won 14 races at the two-day Clemson Invitational last season. Last time out, the Cavaliers swept five races from Duke on April 9 at the Rivanna Reservoir.
