Greensboro, N.C. – Virginia senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for April.

Coughlin received the honor following her medalist showing at the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at Sedgefield Country Club the weekend of April 15-17. The Chesapeake, Virginia, native fired a three-day, nine-under score of 207 to place atop the individual leader board and lead the Cavaliers to their second straight ACC title.

Coughlin’s ACC Championship effort included 16 birdies. Coughlin came to the 18th green on the final day of the tournament tied with Wake Forest freshman Jennifer Kupcho for the individual lead. Coughlin birdied the final hole to become the second Cavalier to capture the ACC individual crown, joining Brittany Altomare, the 2013 champion.

Coughlin shot three consecutive subpar rounds during the ACC Championship and shot par or better in five of her six rounds during the month of April.

Coughlin opened the month with a fifth-place showing at the Bryan National Collegiate, which featured 10 nationally-ranked teams.
