Allie Nicholson never set foot in a boat until three years ago. This weekend Nicholson will compete for a national rowing championship in Gold River, Calif., as a member of the No. 5 Cavaliers. The Charlottesville Newsplex highlighted Allie’s journey in this feature.
Jennifer Reid is making a splash for UVA rowing team. The fourth-year from Stafford County (Va.) earned her diploma from UVA this spring, but her college workload isn’t over. She’s a member of the Cavaliers’ fifth-seeded varsity eight crew that will try to win a national title at the NCAA regatta at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center this weekend. As soon as classes were done at UVA, quarterback @Connor_Brewer2 bounced home to Arizona to workout with a collection of college quarterbacks, including Notre Dame’s Malik Zaire, at four-day intensive quarterback camp this week.
