CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Three members of the Virginia rowing team have been named 2016 College Rowing Coaches Association Pocock All-Americans, the CRCA announced Thursday (June 9) night.

Senior Sam Casto (Dallas, Pa.) and junior Georgia Ratcliff (Falls Church, Va.) were named to the first team, while junior Erin Briggs (Orono, Minn.) was recognized on the second team. Casto earned her second straight first-team All-America honor, while Ratcliff and Briggs collected All-America honors for the first time.

All three Cavalier All-Americans were part of the UVA Varsity Eight that finished fifth at the NCAA Championships in May. The V8 was named ACC Crew of the Year after winning its fifth consecutive ACC title. Casto, Ratcliff and Briggs were also named to the CRCA All-Region 3 first team.

UVA has earned multiple All-America honors for 16 consecutive seasons. The Cavaliers have had at least one member on the first team for 18 straight seasons.
