CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s tennis senior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) was named to the All-ACC Academic Team on Thursday (June 16), the league office announced with the release of the annual team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and hold a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during one’s academic career.

Elbaba, a media studies major, earned All-America honors for the fourth time in singles this season after advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles Championships. She posted a 37-9 record on the season and set the school record for singles wins in a career with 133. She was also named the national winner of the ITA Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship.
