CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s lacrosse had four players earn VaSID All-State honors, the organization announced on Thursday (June 16).

Senior Mary Alati (Glen Ridge, N.J.), sophomore Kasey Behr (Northport, N.Y.) and sophomore Rachel Vander Kolk (Severna Park, Md.) were each named to the first team and junior Maggie Preas (Rockville, Md.) earned second team honors.

The organization voted 11 players to the VaSID University Division Women’s Lacrosse First Team and recognized an additional 14 players with second-team honors.

Alati was one of three midfielders on the first team after leading the team with 22 caused turnovers and was second with 35 ground balls. The IWLCA All-South Region selection had a career-high four ground balls against then-No. 5 Louisville and hit the game-winning shot to seal the victory over then-No. 4 Northwestern to start the season.

Behr was one of four attackers on the first team. The IWLCA Second Team All-South Region and All-ACC Second Team honoree led team with 38 goals and tied for team-best with 41 points. Behr scored a goal in all but one game and had a hat trick in six contests. She was second on team with 36 draw controls.

Vander Kolk was the lone goalkeeper on the first team. An IWLCA All-South Region selection, she played all but nine minutes in goal. She finished the season ranked third in the ACC with 7.33 saves per game and had 10 or more saves in five games. Vander Kolk was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week three times during the season.

Preas, a IWLCA All-South Region and All-ACC Second Team selection, was named to the second team. The defender was third on the team with 35 draw controls, including a career-high 11 against Navy. Preas tallied 16 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls on the season. She had a career-best four caused turnovers in the win over then-No. 4 Northwestern.
