Charlottesville, Va. – With four selections, Virginia had the most representation on the 2016 VaSID All-State Women’s Golf team. Three players earned first-team honors, a fourth was named to the second team and UVA also picked up coach and rookie of the year honors. The voting was released today by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) association.

Senior Lauren Coughlin, the 2016 ACC individual champion, was joined on the first team by senior Elizabeth Szokol and junior Lauren Diaz-Yi. That trio helped the Cavaliers to a fifth-place finish in medal play at the NCAA Championships and to repeat as ACC Champions. Coughlin was named a second-team All-American while Szokol was an honorable mention selection.

UVA head coach Kim Lewellen, the ACC Coach of the Year, repeated as the VaSID coach of the year. Cavalier freshman Anna Redding was named the VaSID Rookie of the Year and was a second-team all-state selection.

Colonial Athletic Association champion Alessandra Liu was named the player of the year.
