Rising fourth year #UVAMLAX players Ryan Lukacovic and Michael Rhoads made the most of their summer. The duo decided to raise money for the one1ove foundation by embarking on a cross-country bike ride. Their target: making it to San Francisco and raising $14,000. The first goal, as you can see from this pic, was achieved. The second goal was surpassed as the two have raised close to $16,000.

In fundraising efforts closer to home, various members of the @VirginiaSports coaching staffs have donated their time to the Charlottesville 29 restaurant auction, raising money for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Bidding recently closed on the auction for having burgers with @UVACoachBronco and members of the football staff (with the winning bids providing more than 16,000 meals for the area’s hungry). Bidding is still open and runs through July 17 for a Bodo’s breakfast with not one, but four NCAA Champion coaches: Brian Boland (men’s tennis), Brian O’Connor (baseball), George Gelnovatch (men’s soccer), and Julie Myers (women’s lacrosse).
