Congratulations to former #UVAMBB player Mike Tobey, who signed with the Charlotte Hornets. Tobey was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft, but was invited to play on the Hornets Pro Summer League team, averaging 10.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals in 20.8 minutes per game, tallying three games of ten-or-more points including one double-double.
On Monday, two members of #UVAWBB, Mone Jones and Aliyah Huland El, made a special back-to-school delivery to some local children. Head coach Joanne Boyle provided pairs of Nikes to present to the kids to make sure they had new shoes for the new school year. Unlike Santa Claus, the two didn’t sneak in, drop their presents and sneak back out, they stayed around and ready stories to the children as well.

Rising #UVABase junior Ernie Clement was featured in the latest edition of Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd.” Currently one of the top hitters in the prestigious Cape Cod League, Clement joined UVA teammates Adam Haseley and Pavin Smith as starters in the Cape’s All-Star Game last Saturday.
