Redding Falls in Match Play at U.S. Women's Amateur

Springfield, Pa. – Virginia sophomore women’s golfer Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) lost in the round of 64 of match play at the 116th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship on Wednesday at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa. Redding was defeated by Tennessee sophomore Shannon Brooks 4&2.

Brooks got out to an early lead, winning four of the match’s first five holes. Redding responded with back-to-back wins on No. 6 and 7 but could not draw any closer.
