Kaeser Finishes 20th in 200m Breaststroke in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil–Virginia swimming class of 2016 graduate Yannick Kaeser placed 20th in the men’s 200-meter breaststroke Tuesday (Aug. 9) at the Rio Olympics.
Kaeser, representing his native Switzerland, finished 20th in the 200m breast in 2:11.77, just off his own Swiss national record of 2:11.65, set at the 2015 FINA World Championships.
Kaeser also finished 24th in the 100m breaststroke earlier in the meet.
It was Kaeser’s second Olympic appearance. He finished 24th in the 200m breast in 2012. He is the third Cavalier swimmer to appear at multiple Olympics, joining Vanja Rogulj (2000, 2004, 2008) and Mirjana Bosevska (1996 and 2000).
