CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The annual Meet the Teams Day with the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be held on Sunday, October 23 at John Paul Jones Arena. Admission and parking for the event are free.

The annual Meet the Teams Day with the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be held on the court following the men’s team’s Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmage. The scrimmage starts at 3 p.m. with the doors to the arena opening one hour prior to tip. Once the scrimmage is over, fans will have an opportunity to meet student-athletes and receive autographs from the men’s and women’s basketball teams for one hour. Upon entry to John Paul Jones Arena, fans can meet members of the swimming and diving and wrestling teams, pick-up schedule posters, and sign-up register for raffle prizes, including single-game men’s and women’s basketball tickets.

Season and single-game tickets for 2016-17 Virginia women’s basketball home games are on sale. Reserved season tickets are $100, while reserved season tickets for youth, seniors, and UVA faculty and staff are $75. General admission season tickets are $85, $65 for youth, seniors, and UVA faculty and staff. Single-game tickets are $15 for courtside seats and $10 for reserved seats. General admission single-game tickets are $8 and $6 for youth, seniors, and UVA faculty and staff. The Cavaliers host Middle Tennessee State in their season opener on Friday, Nov. 11.

The Cavaliers will open the season with a pair of home games, taking on Middle Tennessee State on Friday, Nov. 11 and Coppin State on Sunday, Nov. 13. In all, Virginia will play seven non-conference home games, including two in the annual Cavalier Classic Tournament, Dec. 28-29 at John Paul Jones Arena, and eight home ACC games against Louisville, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest, Florida State and NC State.

This season’s promotional calendar is highlighted by theme games beginning with Military Appreciation Night for the season-opener on November 11 against Middle Tennessee. Other promotions include Tacky Sweater Night (Dec. 16 vs. Illinois-Chicago), Disney Night (Jan. 5 vs. Louisville), Princess/Super Hero Day (Jan. 15 vs. Boston College), National Girls and Women in Sports Day (Feb. 5 vs. Duke), Beach Bash Night (Feb. 16 vs. Florida State) and the annual Play4Kay Pink Game (Feb. 26 vs. N.C. State).

Virginia returns seven letterwinners from last year’s team, including senior Breyana Mason (Woodbridge, Va.) and junior Lauren Moses (Mount Holly, N.J.) who led UVA in rebounding. The Cavaliers are also joined by four freshmen: Felicia Aiyeotan (Lagos, Nigeria), Lisa Jablonowski (Ernster, Luxembourg), 2016 Gatorade New York State Girl’s Player of the Year and Miss New York Basketball Dominique Toussaint (Staten Island, N.Y.) and 2016 Gatorade New Jersey Girl’s Basketball Player of the Year Jocelyn Willoughby (East Orange, N.J.).
