AFC Championship Game

Former #UVAFB defensive end Chris Long is heading to the Super Bowl with New England after the Patriots defeated Pittsburgh, 36-17, in Sunday’s AFC Championship game. The Daily Progress’ Jerry Ratcliffe writes about how playing in the post season was the one thing missing from his successful nine-year NFL career prior to this season.

On the other side of the game, Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier shared a special tribute before Sunday’s showdown. He revealed a custom pair of cleats that honored the franchise’s icons ahead of the AFC Championship game. Among the Steeler greats featured was former UVA tight end Heath Miller. The artwork was done by Corey Pane. Check them out on his Instagram feed.

On Sunday, Chelsea caught up with Syracuse assistant coach and former Cavalier Tammi Reiss before working the Syracuse/Miami game. Reiss and Cardoza played together on the Cavaliers 1991 Final Four team. Shine played at UVA from 2009-12 and holds the record for most games played.
