LYNCHBURG, Va.-The Virginia women’s track and field team finished action at the Liberty Elite Invitational Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Va.

“Every meet is a chance for growth and improvement,” UVA director of track and field/track and field Bryan Fetzer said. “I feel that has been the cases this indoor season for the women. Each competition, we’ve had several different young ladies put together some big performances. Now, we just need it to come together as a collective group in Notre Dame.”

Freshman Emma Call (Richmond, Va.) finished second in the 800 meters in 2:08.74, which ranks fourth on UVA’s all-time list. Senior Micah Brickhill (Buckingham, Va.) placed third in 2:11.73.

In the shot put, senior Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) won with a throw of 15.27m (50′ 1.25″).

In the pentathlon contested Friday, junior Holly Sullivan (Chester Springs, Pa.) placed second with a person-best score of 3,655 points, which ranks seventh on UVA’s all-time list. Sophomore Alana Herran (Orange, N.J.) was third with a personal-best 3,424 points.

“Our pentathletes really made some nice adjustments and improvements,” Fetzer said. “Both are on the verge of even bigger breakthroughs and should have a lot of confidence heading into ACCs.”
