New Orleans, La. – Sophomore Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) is tied for fourth place after the opening round of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans, La. She shot 2-under 70 and trails the tournament leaders by two shots.

Virginia is in 17th place in the team standings after shooting 19-over 307. Miami leads the field at 1-under 287.

UVA’s other scores included 78s by junior Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.) and freshman Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.), an 81 by sophomore Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) and an 82 by senior Lauren Diaz-Yi.

The 54-hole tournament runs through Tuesday.
