New Orleans, La. – The Virginia women’s golf team finished play at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate with a 16th-place finish at 916. Top-ranked Stanford won the event at 1-under 863.

UVA was led by sophomore Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas). She finished 52nd overall at 229. It marked the first time in her career she has led UVA in scoring at a tournament.

The Cavaliers other finishers were Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who was 56th at 230, while junior Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.) and sophomore Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) tied for 65th at 233. Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was 82nd at 237.

Redding led the Cavaliers during the final round with an even par 72.

Virginia returns to action March 3-5 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.
