CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s lacrosse junior midfielder Kasey Behr (Northport, N.Y.) was named to the 2017 Tewaaraton Award watch list, the organization announced on Tuesday (Feb. 28).

Behr led Virginia in goals as a sophomore, scoring 38 goals and accumulating 41 points. An IWLCA All-South Region second team and All-ACC second team selection, she ranked third in the ACC with 5.78 shots per game and seventh with 2.11 goals per game.

Also serving as UVA’s draw specialist, Behr was second on the team with 36 draw controls. She scored multiple goals in 13 games and had a career-high four goals in the win over then-No. 10 Boston College.

This season, Behr has three goals, three ground balls, eight draws and three caused turnovers for the Cavaliers.

The Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour, annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

Virginia begins a three-game road trip Thursday, March 2 at William & Mary at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers will then begin ACC play at No. 5 Syracuse on Sunday, March 5 before traveling to No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday, March 11.
