Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia women’s golf team returns to action this week when the Cavaliers play in the sixth annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,160-yard Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C. The tournament runs Friday, March 3 through Sunday, March 5.

The 17-team field features Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Furman, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

Virginia’s lineup will include sophomores Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.), Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), junior Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.) and freshman Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.). Sophomore Ju Hee Bae (Chantilly, Va.) will compete as an individual.

UVA will tee off Friday at 10:10 a.m. from the 10th tee and is paired with Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Redding leads the team with a 73.80 stroke average while Patrick is second at 74.78. Patrick led the Cavaliers in their last outing at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.

First- and second-round play begins at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday’s final round will start at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be available online at Golfstat.com.

Virginia placed second at last year’s tournament as senior Lauren Coughlin tied for runner-up at 1-over 214.
