Cavaliers Open Play at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – The Virginia women’s golf team struggled during the opening round of play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. The Cavaliers shot 320 and are in 17th place. Alabama fired 2-under 282 to lead the field.
Virginia was led by sophomore Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.), who posted the Cavaliers’ best score at 4-over 75. She finished the day in 44th place. Sophomore Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) is in 72nd place at 78 while sophomore Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) is 86th at 83. Freshman Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and junior Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.) are tied for 88th at 84. Ju Hee Bae (Chantilly, Va.) is in 90th place with an 89 while competing as an individual.
