Annapolis, Md.- The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving team matched their victory total from the first day of the ECAC Championships by winning four more events during Saturday’s competition in Annapolis, Md.

UVA’s performances were highlighted by freshman Jason Quinn’s (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) win in the 400 IM. He set a personal best and meet record with his time of 3:53.29. Senior Robert Leasure (Louisville, Ky.) was fourth in the event at 3:58.76.

Junior Dina Rommel (East Amherst, N.Y.) and sophomore Peyton Baldwin (Newport News, Va.) gave the Cavaliers a one-two sweep in the 100 fly. Rommel won with a time of 54.28 while Baldwin was the runner-up at 54.76. It was Rommel’s second ECAC title after capturing the 50 free on Friday.

Sophomore Mary Pelton (Towson, Md.) also picked up her second gold medal at the meet by winning the 200 free with a time of 1:48.61. She captured the 200 IM on Friday. Senior Maddy Smart (Brookfield, Conn.) was third in the 200 free at 1:50.79 and senior Katie Miller (Cranberry Township, Pa.) was sixth at 1:52.08

Senior Audrey Gould (Bethesda, Md.) picked up the UVA women’s third title during day two of the competition by winning the 100 breast in 1:01.78.

In the men’s 100 fly, senior John Denning (Chesapeake, Va.) was the runner-up at 48.31 while sophomore Bran Goldstein (Gaithersburg, Md.) placed fifth at 48.82.

The ECAC Championships conclude Sunday.
