#UVAMBB head coach Tony Bennett was named to the Summit League’s inaugural Hall of Fame Class last week. Bennett starred for Wisconsin-Green Bay from 1988-92, finishing as the conference’s all-time leader in points (2,285) and assists (601). Bennett’s 49.7 career 3-point percentage is still an NCAA record.

One of the Virginia beat writers, David Teel of the Daily Press, will be inducted into the US Basketball Writers Association Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony over Final Four weekend in Phoenix. Teel has spent more than three decades with the Daily Press as a sports reporter and columnist. Before joining the Newport News staff, he spent time at newspapers in Fayetteville, N.C., Lynchburg and Ocean City, Md. In the final post-game press conference of the season, Tony Bennet presented Teel with a team-autographed basketball to honor his induction.
