SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Virginia women’s tennis team (7-5, 5-0 ACC) continued to hold an unblemished record in conference play, going on the road and posting a 4-3 win at No. 34 Notre Dame (14-2, 5-1 ACC) on Sunday (March 19).

The Cavaliers secured the doubles point before grabbing singles wins from junior Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia), and freshmen Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.) and Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) to pick up the win over Notre Dame.
Virginia started things off with a dominant doubles victory on court one as the pairing of junior Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.V.) and Gullickson, ranked No. 43 nationally, defeated the Irish pairing of Mary Closs and Monica Robinson, 6-1. The Cavaliers then clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win on court two doubles by the duo of freshman Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) and sophomore Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) over the Notre Dame pairing of Brooke Broda and Allison Miller.
The Cavaliers then stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the match as Radosavljevic and Favero pushed to straight-set wins on courts five and six, respectively. Radosavljevic finished first, defeating Closs 6-2, 6-3, while Favero followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Rachel Chong.
Notre Dame got on the board with two singles wins in close succession on courts one and two to cut the Virginia lead to 3-2 overall.
Gullickson then clinched the match on court four, battling to secure a straight-set victory over Zoe Spence. The freshman won 7-5, 7-6 to keep Virginia’s unbeaten streak in ACC play intact.
