AUSTIN, Texas – The UVA women’s track and field team wrapped up its performance at the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a first-place finish from senior, Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) in the shot put.

Bohan led the event from the start, topping her throw each round. She would reach a mark of 16.02 meters (52-6.75) to capture first in section B of the event.

“Christine (Bohan) continues to do well both in practice and in competition,” said assistant coach Martin Maric. “Despite the early schedule and the sweltering heat, she was still able to throw over 16 meters, which no one in her section was able to do.”

Sophomore Kelly McKee (Lenexa, Kan.) also had a solid performance in her first outdoor meet. Reaching a mark of 12.73 meters (41-9.25) in the triple jump, she ranks fourth in UVA all-time outdoor performances.

“The horizontal jumpers emphasized the triple jump this weekend and the overall results were good,” said assistant coach Mario Wilson. “Kelly McKee set a new personal best and continues to show promise.”

McKee’s performance ranks her eighth in the East Region, according to the results posted prior to the weekend competitions.

Today concludes the UVA women’s competition at the Texas Relays. The Cavaliers’ next meet will be at home (April 8) against Maryland, Penn and Columbia.
