Charlottesville, Va. – The 13th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team will wrap up its regular season with an appearance at the Gary Koch Invitational at Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, N.C. The tournament features 36 holes of play Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. The tournament is hosted by Kentucky and Auburn.

This year’s field features No. 13 Virginia, No. 20 Auburn, No. 43 N.C. State, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville State, Lamar, Southern Illinois, Louisiana-Monroe, Richmond and Wofford.

UVA’s lineup includes seniors Jimmy Stanger (Tampa, Fla.) and Derek Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.), junior Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.), sophomore Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) and freshman Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.). Freshman Luke Schaap (Potomac, Md.) will compete as an individual.

Stanger leads UVA with a 70.09 stroke average and enters the tournament ranked No. 10 in the Golfstat standings. Bard is second on the team at 70.65. He is ranked No. 69 by Golfstat.

The Cavaliers will be paired with Richmond and NC State during Monday’s play that gets underway at 7:45 a.m.
