CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 3 Virginia men’s tennis team (22-1, 9-1 ACC) begins the final week of the regular season by hosting Richmond (23-2, 5-0 A-10) on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m. at the Snyder Tennis Center.

Admission is free for all UVA home tennis matches and free parking is available at the Culbreth Garage. Parking is also available at the Central Grounds Garage (hourly rates apply). Live scoring and live streaming video will also be available via the link posted on VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers are 5-0 in April, including picking up back-to-back wins over ranked opponents with a 4-3 victory over No. 11 North Carolina on April 9 and a 6-1 win against No. 18 Georgia Tech last Thursday (April 13).

Junior Henrik Wiersholm (Kirkland, Wash.) and freshman Carl Soderlund (Stockholm, Sweden) each added a pair of singles wins last week, continuing their undefeated seasons in singles play. Wiersholm is 16-0 with a 9-0 mark against ACC opponents while Söderlund is 10-0 with five of those victories coming in conference matches.

Senior Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) picked up a big victory on Thursday night, defeating Georgia Tech’s Christopher Eubanks 7-6 (6), 7-6 (6). Eubanks is ranked No. 5 in the latest ITA singles rankings while Kwiatkowski is No. 13.

Richmond has won a school-record 22-straight matches and has not lost since January 21, nearly three months ago. No. 1 singles player Jacob Dunbar has won 18 straight singles matches and only has two losses in duals this season. Dunbar has only faced one ranked player, Old Dominion’s Adam Moundir, ranked No. 44, and fell 6-3, 6-2 in that January match-up. The Spiders have won the doubles point in 23 of their 25 matches this season.

The Cavaliers close out the regular season on the road this weekend, playing at Miami (8-11, 2-8 ACC) on Friday, April 21 at 3 p.m. and then finishing off with a Sunday, April 23 1 p.m. match at No. 33 Florida State (14-9, 4-5 ACC).
