CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va – The No. 12 Virginia rowing team concludes regular season action with a home regatta against No. 3 Texas on Saturday (April 29) on the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va.

The regatta features four head-to-head races (Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four) between the Cavaliers and Longhorns, and one UVA intrasquad race. Admission is free to the public and free parking and viewing for the 2,000-meter course is available at Cornerstone Community Church in Earlysville.

The Virginia and Texas Varsity Eight race is set for 10 a.m., followed by the Second Varsity Eight (10:20 a.m.), Varsity Four (10:40 a.m.) and Second Varsity Four (11 a.m.). The UVA intrasquad race concludes the event at 11:20 a.m.

UVA will honor seniors Marijane Brennan (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.), Erin Briggs (Orono, Minn.), Kameryn Corcoran (Middletown, Md.), Eliza Daniels (Hingham, Mass.) Jo Gurman (Weston, Conn.), Taylor Leonard (Arlington, Va.), Dana Lueker (Williamsburg, Va.), Colette Lucas-Conwell (Palo Alto, Calif.), Lyndsay Martini (Falls Church, Va.), Allie Nicholson (Charlottesville, Va.), Ellen Pate (Lafayette, Calif), Georgia Ratcliff (Falls Church, Va.), Karen Schulte (Trout Run, Pa.), Grace Tuttle (Vienna, Va.) and Ali Zwicker (Victoria, British Columbia) following the regatta.

The Longhorns placed first at last week’s Clemson Invitational, while the Cavaliers finished fifth.

UVA aims for its eighth consecutive ACC rowing title and 17th overall at the 2017 ACC Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 14 on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
