CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team will host its annual Orange and Blue Scrimmage Saturday (Aug. 19) at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium. Admission is free to the public.

The team will be holding a free youth clinic (eighth grade and under) following the scrimmage.

Virginia returns four starters from last season and welcomes six newcomers for the 2017 season. Head coach Aaron Smith is in his first season at the helm for the Cavaliers.

This season Virginia will host 16 matches at Memorial Gymnasium. The Cavaliers open the season by hosting the Fairfield Inn & Suites Cavalier Classic on Aug. 25-26. The tournament will feature two matches on Friday (Aug. 25) with UVA playing Hofstra. Saturday will have four matches, with the Cavaliers taking on Liberty before closing the tournament against Villanova.

Game-day parking for volleyball matches is available free of charge at the Culbreth Road Garage, located behind Carr’s Hill Field. Limited parking is available at the Central Grounds Garage (hourly rates apply).
