Silver Hoo

Congratulations to former #UVASoftball player and current #USRowing sculler Meghan O’Leary who won a silver medal on Sunday at the World Championships in the double scull. O’Leary and her partner Ellen Tomek, have raced in five championship finals, including at the 2016 Rio Olympics, but had never finished above sixth place prior to yesterday’s result. In other national team news, former #UVAMSOC player and current New York Red Bulls forward Derrick Etienne Jr., has been called up by the Haiti National Team for a friendly against Japan on Oct. 10. Etienne Jr. represented the Haitian Senior Team most recently the 2017 Gold Cup Playoffs in March. He scored his first international goal in a win against Trinidad & Tobago in which Haiti qualified for the Gold Cup Playoffs.
