Walsh Leads UVA at BOT with 20th-Place Finish

Jonesborough, Tenn. – The Virginia men’s golf team finished 11th at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The Cavaliers shot 6-over 294 during Sunday’s final round for a 54-hole total of 7-over 871. Penn State took top honors at 833.

Junior Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) led the Virginia contingent with a 20th-place performance. He shot 2-over 74 on Sunday for a three-day total of 2-under 214. Sophomore Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) was 37th at 1-over 217. He, along with sophomore Ashton Poole (Charlotte, N.C.), had the team’s best final-round scores, shooting 72. Poole was 43rd overall at 218.

Junior Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.) finished 51st at 222 while freshman Brandon Yoon (Ashburn, Va.) was 80th at 233. Walker shot 76 on Sunday while Yoon posted a score of 78.

Freshman WeiWei Gao (Cebu, Philippines), who competed as an individual, was 51st at 6-over 222. He shot 78 during the final round.

The Cavaliers wrap up their fall schedule next weekend at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
