Charlottesville, Va.- Virginia senior Jennifer Marrkand (Westford, Mass.) was named ACC Female Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 24), according to the league office.

Marrkand led the Cavaliers to victory against Pitt and LSU last weekend, capturing three individual first-place finishes. She topped the 100-yard butterfly (54.69), 200-yard butterfly (1:58.02) and 200-yard individual medley (2:01.58). Additionally, Marrkand swam NCAA B standard times in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard individual medley.

In the relay events, Marrkand placed first with the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay teams. The 200-yard freestyle relay team recorded a time of 1:32.85, while the 400-yard medley relay team recorded a time of 3:42.47.

Marrkand rounded out the meet finishing fifth with the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.

Virginia’s next meet is at home against Duke on Nov. 3. The meet will be held at the Aquatic and Fitness Center at 11 a.m.
