CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team (4-17, 0-10 ACC) will take on Boston College (5-15, 2-8 ACC) on Thursday (Oct. 26) at 7:30 p.m.at Power Gym in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

HOOS HITS
Virginia is coming off two close matches last weekend. The Cavaliers fell in four sets to Duke, with two sets taking extra points and three being decided by four points or less. UVA then was edged by Wake Forest in a tight five-set battle.

Freshman Alex Spencer (Canton, Ohio) recorded double-figure kills in both matches. Spencer had 12 kills against Duke and then had a career-high 18 kills against Wake Forest.

Junior Jelena Novakovic (Belgrade, Serbia) also had double-digit kills in both matches, finishing with 20 total kills.

Redshirt sophomore Kat Young (Chantilly, Va.) had a career-high seven blocks to aid in UVA’s eight total blocks against Wake Forest.

OPPONENT INFO
Boston College is coming of losses at Clemson and Georgia Tech last weekend. The Eagles are led by Cat Balido, with 2.95 kills per set. Amaka Chukwujekwu leads the team with 1.09 blocks per set and Jill Strockis paces the back line with 3.89 digs per set.

Virginia is 16-4 all-time against Boston College. The Cavaliers had won four-straight before falling to the Eagles 3-2 in 2016. UVA has won the last two matches at Boston College, with the most recent being a 3-0 sweep on Oct. 16, 2015.
