Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia women’s golf team heads to North Carolina this weekend for the 16th annual Landfall Tradition held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 27-29, at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington.

A total of 18 teams will compete on the par-72, 6,166-yard layout that borders the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach.

In addition to host UNCW and the Cavaliers, the field includes Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Furman, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina and UCF.

Virginia’s lineup for this year’s tournament features junior’s Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas), Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), plus sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.).

Last year, UVA finished 11th at the event behind Ford’s 18th-place showing. She shot 2-over 218. The Cavaliers won the title in 2006, claiming a tiebreaker victory after both UVA and Michigan State finished play at 902.

Tee times are set to start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Sunday’s play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
