Former #UVAMSOC player Brian Ownby (2008-11) helped Louisville City FC to its first USL Cup on Monday night (Nov. 13). In front of 14,456 fans at Slugger Field in Louisville on Monday night, LouCity defeated the Swope Park Rangers, 1-0. Ownby, a member of the 2009 Virginia National Championship team, is in his first year with the LouCity and scored a goal in the Eastern Conference Final on Nov. 4.

#BIG3

Former #UVAMBB star Roger Mason Jr., who played for seven teams during a 10-year NBA career, has a new gig. Last December, Mason left his post as deputy executive director of the NBA Players Association to become the commissioner and president of BIG3, a barnstorming 3-on-3 summer league for retired NBA players that is the brainchild of rapper/actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz.
